Jenny Lime & Lenny Lime
Every day, Jenny quietly called,
“Hey… hey… hey… I want to play too.”
But the children were having so much fun that they couldn’t hear her.
Still, Jenny never gave up.
One sunny afternoon, Jenny took a deep breath.
She gathered all her courage and shouted,
“HEYYY! I want to play too!”
This time, Lenny Lemon looked up and saw Jenny smiling from the tree.
Lenny grinned from ear to ear.
“Wiggle yourself down!” he called.
All the children joined in with happy voices.
“Wiggle! Wiggle! Wiggle!”
Jenny laughed and began to wiggle back and forth.
She wiggled…
And wiggled…
And wiggled some more…
Then…
THUMP!
Jenny Lime landed safely on the soft green grass.
The children cheered, clapped, and welcomed their new friend.
Jenny rolled happily through the grass.
Back and forth…
Back and forth…
She stretched out her little leaf toward the children.
She hoped someone would share a delicious popsicle with her.
Nearby, the strawberry patch watched everything with wide, curious eyes.
The strawberries couldn’t believe what they were seeing.
Jenny Lime, Lenny Lemon, and the children were laughing, playing, and making wonderful new memories together.
From that day on, Jenny never had to watch from the tree again.
She had found her courage, made new friends, and discovered that sometimes all it takes is one brave voice to begin a beautiful adventure.
And, of course…
She finally got to enjoy a yummy popsicle, too!
“shhh don’t tell your parents about how good these popsicles are because they will eat them up!”
